Did you know what the colours on the flag stood for? Red is for the battles of the past, blue is for peace and stability and yellow is for the natural resources the country possesses. The shield and spear stand for protection of the country from enemies; the shield is black and white to show that black and white people live together peacefully in Swaziland.

The 2007 re-union - who was there?

The 2007 re-union was held in Hatfield, Hertfordshire on June 9th 2007. We all met from around 4pm in the hotel (or was it a roundabout?) for tea or, as the afternoon wore on, a beer. Dinner was served at 8pm and much wagging of tongues ensued as well as discussion as to 'who was that person in this photo?'

Swaziland - who was where, when?

We all want to know who was in the Swaziland lowveldt in the 1980's plus or minus a decade but who was thingummy in 1982 in Tshaneni with the beard? We may never know - unless you get in touch!

Here is a list in alphabetical order-ish.

Phil and Claire Wallace arrived in late 1979, then recently married, and stayed until the beginning of 1986, based in Thaneni converting the rice paddies to sugarcane. Phil was in Tshaneni as a soil student in 1976/77 for a year working with Richard Allen on Ricelands.

Re-union 2007 and all the details

Thanks to Bruce and Simon for organising everything for the night. Thanks too to Nick and Lisa for hosting the coffee the next morning plus braai in the afternoon for those that could make it.
